Unity Before Heresy

THIS WEEK...!!! The UB4H team ramp up preparations for Ruinstorm , the 30K event hosted by Greetings from the Warp coming up in the beginning of October. King Fluff  has also been prepping hard for his own event ; Cataclysm of Iron III - which kicks off at the end of October.  Much wriggle needed there as there’s so much to do and so little time to do it in! GG managed to get a game in this week to play test his list for Ruinstorm.  Turns out Apothecaries keep units alive!  He faced a rather tasty mechanised Space Wolves army but managed to come out on top. Here are a few shots of the game... Here the Sisters of Silence Prosecutors overlook their space wolf quarry, theres a speaker of the dead who has an engagement with a Blackship...  The Brotherhood of the Blue Sky rushes to meet the enemy head on The plasma outriders line up some armour as targets... After stripping the enemy Arcus of valuable hull points the Deathsworn ass...

Hello Everyone!  Summer is ebbing away and autumn is only round the corner.  So as the days get shorter, colder and darker we hobby folk slink back to our man-caves and begin afresh with ways to batter our enemies on the table top.  Whilst we've been away we've all been busy so he's a look at what we've been up to. GG has gone rogue and has been building like an idiot.  From AT terrain, addition to his sisters of silence and even a Fantasy model?! GG's Iron Warrior heavy armoured division got its first lick of paint (but no further <shameface> ) GG also picked up the Age of Sigmar endless spells box for beastmen with the sole purpose of using the xxx as razorwings for his sisters of silence xxx cadre. GG also dug out his (very) old Battlefleet Gothic minis ready to play test our (in production) Imperialis Armada rules, watch this space! Aaaand he couldn't resist the new Warcry warbeast fury models for his (never seen the light o...

GG here with another Friends of the blog army focus.  This week HermesOlympian1 shows off his new Blood Angels army.  I've know Hermes for a few years are the potency of his armies is only surpassed by the ridiculous time he takes to paint them!  A true ambassador of the hobby, here he is.. Hi my name is Hermes,  over the past 4 years I've collected and played with  Imperial Fists and Sons of Horus but recently I've turned my attention to the sons of Baal, the Blood Angels. I started collecting the IX Legion at the end of last year, choosing to build a Day of Revelations army centred around jump pack marines dropping down on fiery wings to deliver the Emperors benediction to his foes. My I original plan was for this army to be a detachment to compliment my Imperial Fists, the speed and ferocity of the angelic hosts being a natural accompaniment to the stoic and defensive Praetorians and with Day of Revelation deploying via first turn alpha...

The team come together to show off their hobby progress in their wild unfettered forms.. GG shelves the heavy armour in favour of some light skirmish troops... Tylar digs for victory with some subterranean  transports... And King Fluff furiously closes a breach in the space/time continuum in preparation only for it to be shattered once more at his event Cataclysm of Iron II, kicking off this weekend. NPC's ready for the weekends schnanighans So to kick off, King Fluff who this week has mostly been, melting... KF: Never does the phrase ‘The Heresy Train Hath No Breaks’ apply more pertinently when there’s a looming deadline and the ball of plasma death in the sky is screeching your name.  Battling through though, he has been getting on with more prep for Cataclysm of Iron II, being held this weekend. Event T-Shirts One of the Objective buildings ready for some techno development So stay tuned for some highlights from the event bo...

GG is not a painter at heart, So to motivate him to paint his armies we dangle a corrot in front of him and let him BUILD...  My greatest love of the hobby is building.  Whether it be a simple kit, a subtle conversion, or something really out-there and original that really flexes the creative side of the hobby.  For me this is really where you can delve deep and really immerse yourself into the hobby. So, after spending the last 3 months or so finishing my White Scars army ready for The30KChannel, I rewarded myself with a mass building project.  Taking me back to my Iron Warriors roots,  I've had a few tanks sat in boxes in shelves for too long.  Time to unleash the Big Guns!   I’ve always loved the idea behind the Iron Warriors ideals if overwhelming force.  Weather that be massed infantry assaults, the Big Guns of the Stor-Bezashk or the Super-Heavy formation of the Khaleaorus.  And it is this latter idea which I'm t...
