Adeptus Titanicus - Legio Astraman list (1500pts)
Hi All, King Fluff here.
Today I’m going to be building a list for the Christmas Game. We decided on 1500pts, which means I need to work out what models I need to get built and painted to be ready to play.
From the outset of Adeptus Titanicus I was adamant that I wanted to reproduce my 28mm maniple in the new 8mm scale. To that end I'll be including engines that I already own as a means of getting closer to my goal. I'm currently working on a Battle Maniple in 28mm, unfortunately that's way beyond 1500pts for AT but it does mean that a sizeable chunk of the maniple can get done before the Christmas AT Bash.
First up, I’m going to take two Warlord Titans. Principally I have chosen this as a starting point for point allocations as having played a couple of games I found that having two anchor points for the force helped when creating firing solutions in a game. Although I only own one at 28mm I thought for AT I could treat myself to a second engine. I have one nearly finished, so this should make it easier to build the force too. I’m taking the standard loadout that the original Warlord release came with a pair of volcano cannons and apocalypse launchers. These come to the princely sum of 510 points per engine and as such is a big points sink but without a full D loadout I'm hoping that reactor pushing won't be a case of shooting myself in the foot.
Secondly, I’m taking a Reaver Titan. This is the most numerous class of Titan in my 28mm collection, so it’s a nice fluffy choice. This will be armed with double Gatling Blasters and an apocalypse Missile Launcher. I did intend for him to have a little more poke but with limited loadout options on the Warlords by available points were restricted for what weapons I could take on the Reaver. He sets me back 290 points.
Thirdly I’m taking a Warhound, armed with twin Vulcan Mega-bolters, again restricted on 'poke' due to points allocation but 200 points towards the force total.
This puts me on 1510 points for the game, I did find when building the list that the points and options are similarly restrictive as the Talons of the Emperor list for Age of Darkness in that there are very few low point filler options to allow you to hit a specific point value rather than undercut it or exceed it. With many of the weapons options being similarly pointed it does mean you have to make significant compromises on the lists you'd like to take for certain point value games.
I'd be interested to hear what point games you are all playing at for Adeptus Titanicus?
