Adeptus Titanicus - Building Projects and WIP
Rogal Dorn the Primarch of my chosen Legion was tasked with reshaping the Imperial Palace and fortifying and turning it into a fortress ready to stand against the traitors and Horus's armies.
Rogal Dorn I am not 😊 Get ready for a picts heavy post folk I've been getting my build on!
With the impending face off between the three blog members over some AT I've been turning my own hand at creating some larger buildings to add some interesting scenery. Col. Hertford has already paved the way for me in his previous post and we share some traits when it comes to building terrain. The main being cleaning and prepping all the tiles I want to use and mapping out how many I'll need and where they will go. Now that's not to say I don't like to 'wing-it' now and again and go a bit rogue, but when I'm putting larger terrain together it really is the best way.
These pictures show the main building structure and the tower I wanted to build. For those that have seen my previous work you will recognise a similar aesthetic to my city terrain used on my FW city-fight boards for Age of Darkness games the tower below in its current form.
With the main tiles prepped and ready I began to work out how exactly I was going to achieve the build. This I did by using some plasticard for strengthening floors which I cut having taken measurements from the tiles themselves and also to form the tower structure. I fitted them together using some blu-tac.
It took shape pretty quickly and being happy with how it was coming together I began to glue the parts in place.

Here's the tower below in its current form. I'm still undecided as to whether to add more of the support struts but once I'm in a position to paint I'll make that final call. I've shown it with some of the sector mechanics terrain which like many others I'll be integrating into my building for more industrial areas.
Finally below are some of the other buildings I've made and will be adding to as I come up to the paint phase. I'll be testing out a few paint ideas on some of the smaller buildings so once I have this right I'll be able to get through the larger ones with ease.
This large final building has a set of smaller buildings on the second layer that are all removable.
So there you have it folks. Look out for more follow up terrain posts for our up-coming AT battle report. Soon we'll each be posting progress of our forces and the painting of them as we move forwards. Keep your eye's peeled to the blog over the next few weeks and holidays for more great content. I'll be using some of the fantastic techniques I've gleaned from Myles over at Lil'Legend Studio. Check out his Facebook page when you can and his Patreon is well worth checking out too!
If you'd like to get in touch or ask any questions about this post comment below. We'd love to hear your thoughts on AT Terrain and what projects you've been completing yourself.
Until next time..

ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I'm trying to balance in game LOS blocking with building that still look the part.
