Adeptus Titanicus - DELTA tile from Forgeworld: Unboxing

Welcome back everyone!
Tylar here..... again 😜 as promised with another cheeky unboxing of the new pre-release DELTA tile for Adeptus Titanicus from Forgeworld.

Again I was lucky enough to be able to buy one during my recent attendance at the HH: Weekender 2019.  As impulse buys go sometimes at events you can't help yourself you get caught up in the euphoria of all the new shiny things.  However I had a clear idea of what I was looking for ......but like many others Book 8 wasn't there 😂

When I saw two AT tiles were available I weighed up what would be a good buy and what would my tiny Titans look good standing on.

The second tile the GAMMA was also released.  Unfortunately funds didn't allow for two tiles this time round having already decided on the New Dreadnought Drop Pod which is covered in another post.

The GAMMA tile

So onto the DELTA tile. Firstly as Forgeworld tiles go the casting process is some of the best I've seen for pre-release.  I've bought tiles before and they've been poor at best.  Either thin in material or warped quite badly.  However these ones did not disappoint.  The detail is awesome and the painted ones I've seen in the flesh are fantastic.  The full set were out for people to game on and you can see the DELTA here in the top left.  It shows that despite limited flat surfaces on some of the tiles the addition of the Adeptus Titanicus Civitas Imperialis Sector terrain, and the new spires upgrade sprues it really brings the tiles to life.

The DELTA tile comes complete with miniaturised versions of the FW Cityscape Landing Pad tile. There are three spread across the board with a large hanger in one corner.  Additional detail includes small bunkers with some damaged adding to the narrative of a fought over area.

The detail on these tiles really is something else.  I plan to make a few moulds of some of the bunkers and other small details and I'll be incorporating them into my bases moving forwards.  Interestingly Blake Spence and Mark Bedford both spoke of how there is a lot of interest from the studio to do basing kits.  If that's the case that would be awesome.

What looks like a small refinery area or fuel storage area is a great little addition.  I think beyond the basing sets Forgeworld would probably do well to add some resin scenery to the stable too as I think with the popularity of the game it would sell exceptionally well.

The large hangar styled building has enough room on-top to add additional gaming buildings from the terrain sets already available and as you can see the sides and rear of the hangar have been cast using the AT Terrain tiles as the building blocks to bring the aesthetic together.

This pad has some kind of conveyor system form the hangar to the landing pad itself. Too small to be a coffin ship potentially but what could it house?  A great opportunity to do some scratch building here for some kind of launch vehicle.

So there you guys another great tile from forgeworld that will be great as a show stand for my Titans initially and then as time goes I'll likely add the other three to have another playing surface.  Please free to comment or ask questions below.  We like to bring you guys up-to-date info on what's new out there but it's always better when it's in hand and we can give you a real opinion.  I for one was a little underwhelmed by the initial two tiles but having seen these I look forwards to adding them to my terrain collection.  Don't forget to come back later for our weekly round up!

    1. Lady Atia great to see you back in the blogosphere!! 😊👍🏻
I'm tempted. But to begin with I will look at the GAMMA tile which is the second of the new tiles when it's released. ☝🏼 Pictured above. They're great for static gaming at home or for clubs but for pick up games a 4 x 4 board is a lot of resin to cart around 😄

    1. Hi there. Unfortunately as they’re out of print it’s highly likely now your best bet is Heresy Trading or the Outer Gate trading pages on FB.
